2023 see’s the return of music from singer/songwriter and producer JwBlake, now over half way through the year, the artist is gearing up for the release of his 3rd single from his upcoming EP due to be released in November.
“Youuuuuu” (with six U’s) is JwBlake’s love-letter to liquid drum and bass, taking the genre and adding an indie singer-songwriter style twist, the track features dynamic hand sculpted sounds combined with the high energy atmospheric elements of liquid electronic music with intimate musical harmonies.
The result is a highly emotional and beautifully orchestrated track that is able to combine both indie styles with the electronic sub-genre in a both catchy and enjoyable way.
For JwBlake however this track was both adventurous and hugely challenging, completely re-inventing his production style and mixing and mastering abilities many sleepless nights were spent getting the dynamics and transitions of this track just right and JwBlake hopes that this shines through in the final product.

Far Winds Blow

Written in collaboration with Everything After Midnight drummer Joseph Horlock, Far Winds Blow is the product of late nights across the campus of The University of York echoing messages of Hope, Longing, Home Sickness and Grief.
Drawing inspiration from folk and country artists such as Mumford and Sons, Florence and the Machine, and old school Cold Play style pop. Far Winds Blow is a beautifully dynamic track featuring quiet whispering verses, which build into loud, rocky and emotional choruses which propagate across the track like ocean waves.

JwBlake hopes that his listeners can find peace and solace within this emotional ballad and looks forward to showing off the track to live audience’s after release day.

JwBlake can be found posting content primarily on YouTube where he hopes to be able to grow fans and give them an entertaining insight to the music making process and promotional journey’s of his tracks.

Having played a live show on URY's, The Local Lowdown, JwBlake has excitedly announced a new EP to be released in September, along with both 4 single releases and live editions to come during the rest of the year.

Taking a perfect mix of rhythmic, distorted wall of sound guitars, with punchy driving bass the song has an almost funky groove to it which bounces along and drives the rest of the track.
